Our March special guest is author and animation / audiobook voiceover talent James Sie.


Ever since landing a chance audition in 1999 for the title role in Jackie Chan Adventures, James Sie has been supplying voices for many well known television shows, movies and games including Stillwater (title role); Kung Fu Panda: The Paws of Destiny (Bunnidharma & Sun Wukong); How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World (Chaghati Khan); Final Fantasy VII Remake (Professor Hojo) and Ghost of Tsushima (populating the world).

He’s been able to play kung fu heroes in Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness (Monkey) and Quest of the Dragon (Bruce Lee) two superheroes for the DC universe (Wind Dragon and the Atom), Playstation’s Uncharted series (Eddie Raja), King of the Hill (multiple roles), and has gained eternal fame as the Cabbage Merchant in Avatar: The Last Airbender.

James is the author of two novels, the upcoming All Kinds of Other (May 2021, HarperCollins) and Still Life Las Vegas (2015, St. Martins Press), for which he recorded the audiobook. As an audiobook narrator, he has also narrated A Change of Hate by Joe Broadmeadow, and many, many titles as a volunteer for Learning Ally, a non-profit that provides audiobooks for the reading challenged.

James joins L.A. voice pros Tish Hicks and home studio master Dan Lenard (our "tech-know" sensei) to answer questions around his voices for television, movies and games as well as publishing and narrating the audiobook version of one of his own novels.
